The Mt. Eden Monarchs will take on the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Eden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Mt. Eden made easy work of San Lorenzo and carried off a 15-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Monarchs.

Kealani Temoche was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Shelby Newcomb was incredible, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Cruz, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Mt. Eden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Berkeley didn't have quite enough to beat Encinal on Wednesday and fell 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Jets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Mia Kaufman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Camil Babij Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Berkeley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mt. Eden, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
