Softball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Clinton Maroons

The MacArthur Generals will venture away from home to square off against the Clinton Maroons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

MacArthur is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Springfield, falling 19-4.

MacArthur saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Jackson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Jackson a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Clinton was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 16-1 to Lexington.

MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

MacArthur suffered a grim 24-3 defeat to Clinton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can MacArthur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
