Softball Recap: Pine Valley Central Panthers vs. Randolph Cardinals
Pine Valley Central extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They came up short against the Randolph Cardinals, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 two weeks ago.
Brooke McCoy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one stolen base.
As for Randolph, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Randolph's side, Hannah Hill and Grace Arnold-Hill made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Hill tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Arnold-Hill didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hill went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Arnold-Hill went 2-for-3 with three runs. Those three runs gave Arnold-Hill a new career-high.
