Softball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 7-1 to the Sumrall Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 last Thursday.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Sumrall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Columbia will take on Salem at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sumrall, they will host Hattiesburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
