Softball Recap: Butler Bears vs. Liberal Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warsaw, Butler was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They skirted past the Liberal Bulldogs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since April 11, 2024.
Kylee Dubray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Taylor Hudson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Brooke Miller was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Butler now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Liberal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Coming up, Butler will take on Lockwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberal has already played their next match (against Lakeland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
