Baseball Recap: Kennett Eagles vs. Stark Generals
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hollis-Brookline, Kennett was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Stark Generals 11-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Guillermo Chavarria Burns and Bowen Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Chavarria Burns pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Brown tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. At the plate, Chavarria Burns went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Brown got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Serghio Espezua was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Parsons, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Kennett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
