Softball Game Preview: Clinton Redwolves vs. Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles

The Clinton Redwolves will head out on the road to challenge the Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Plymouth Christian Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Clinton, who comes in off a win.

Clinton took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Onsted 10-0. The Redwolves haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Taryn Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Cora Harsh was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Calli Kruger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Clare, falling 10-3.

Chloe Paryaski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Clinton's record is now 8-5. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Clinton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Plymouth Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs.
