Soccer Game Preview: MacArthur vs. Pearce

MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Pearce recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will challenge the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pearce better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if MacArthur's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when MacArthur really gets things going. The Cardinals never let Berkner get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering MacArthur's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Berkner are ranked 698th).

MacArthur hit Berkner with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jossie Sanabria, Julie Flores, and Estephanie Gallegos.

Meanwhile, Pearce hasn't lost a match since January 22nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Richardson. That's two games straight that Pearce have won by exactly four goals.

Pearce has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those eight matchups. As for MacArthur, their record now sits at 10-6.

MacArthur suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Pearce in their previous matchup on February 6th. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
