Soccer Recap: Mountain Ridge Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions didn't have quite enough to beat the Millennium Tigers and fell 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mountain Lions came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Tigers are ranked 86th).

This is the second loss in a row for Mountain Ridge and nudges their season record down to 7-4-1. As for Millennium, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7-1.

Mountain Ridge will venture away from home to challenge Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mesa will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Mountain Ridge surely won't give up without a fight. Millennium has already played their next match (against O'Connor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
