Football Recap: Auburn Tigers vs. Dothan Wolves

Auburn won the last time they faced Dothan, and things went their way on Friday too. The Auburn Tigers blew past the Dothan Wolves 42-7. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 31 points or more this season.

Leading Auburn to victory were Omar Mabson and Charlie Ward. Mabson rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while Ward rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Mabson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Kilgore, who threw for 165 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Auburn was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Despite the loss, Dothan still got an impressive performance from Aj Alexander, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Dothan is 2-1 when Alexander posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise.

The win for Auburn keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. As for Dothan, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Auburn will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bob Jones at 7:00 p.m. on November 8th. Auburn is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Dothan, they will host Godby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.6 points per game this season.
