Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Brookeland walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Martinsville Pirates a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Brookeland's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Martinsville, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

As of now, neither Brookeland nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
