Recap: Warren Bears vs. Oak Hills Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Warren Bears had no problem doing just that on Friday. They beat Oak Hills by the very same score they won with last week: 34-33. Winning may never get old, but Warren sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Warren was led to victory by Kelton Strickland and Madden Iamaleava. Strickland rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, while Iamaleava threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. Strickland really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Another player making a difference was Jordan Ross, who picked up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Warren pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.3 points per game. As for Oak Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Warren will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaminade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Chaminade is ranked 44th, while Warren is ranked 28th). Oak Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
