Meanwhile, St. Thomas More Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 53-49 to American Leadership Academy-Johnston. The Chancellors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thales Academy Apex has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for St. Thomas More Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
