Basketball Recap: Collinsville's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Collinsville and Coweta squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Collinsville had to settle for second. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coweta Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 12th).

Despite the loss, Collinsville still got an impressive performance from Kate Reid, who shot 56% from beyond the arc on her way to 31 points. Those 31 points gave Reid a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Appelberg, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Collinsville moved to 14-14 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Coweta, the win (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

As of now, neither Collinsville nor Coweta have any future games scheduled.
