Riverdale is 8-1 against Mercer County since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rams will face off against the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Riverdale can't be too worried about heading out to take on Mercer County: they just beat Sherrard at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Rams skirted past the Tigers 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (71-65) Riverdale actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 15-25, 25-23.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kami Kruse, who had 14 digs and two aces. Lola Wainwright was another key player, getting 15 assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Mercer County hadn't done well against Rockridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 2-0.

Mercer County easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12.

Riverdale's record is now 16-7-1. As for Mercer County, they now have a winning record of 16-15.

Riverdale came out on top in a nail-biter against Mercer County in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
