Football Recap: Kimberly Bulldogs vs. Sugar-Salem Diggers
Kimberly lost against Sugar-Salem back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Diggers, falling 35-14. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
MacRaye Bruning threw for 234 yards and two TDs. Titus Osterman was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards and a pair of scores. On the ground, Monroe Whitten rushed for 33 yards.
It was another big night for Frank Fillmore, who threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes for Sugar-Salem. Those 215 passing yards gave Fillmore a new career-high. Kimball Tonks handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Kimberly now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Sugar-Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Kimberly will venture away from home to challenge Filer at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 8.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Sugar-Salem, after each having a week off, they and Preston will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
