Basketball Game Preview: Juniata Christian Eagles vs. Faith Baptist Eagle

Juniata Christian is 0-7 against Faith Baptist since December of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Juniata Christian Eagles will welcome the Faith Baptist Eagle at 6:15 p.m. Juniata Christian's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Faith Baptist's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Juniata Christian came up short against Springfield Christian Academy on Friday, falling 47-27. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Faith Baptist strolled past Bethany Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-33.

Juniata Christian better focus on containing Bailey Burton and Gigi Montgomery as the pair were huge in Faith Baptist's win. Burton went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Montgomery posted eight points along with five boards and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Burton has scored at least a third of Faith Baptist's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellia Adams, who put up six points.

Faith Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Juniata Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Juniata Christian took a serious blow against Faith Baptist in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 52-22. Thankfully for Juniata Christian, Amy Ahrens (who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
