Shawnee waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-10, 25-17.

Shawnee's offense was headlined by Gianna Upshaw and Karleigh Hutchins, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Chelsea Burkholder and her 27 assists.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Lima Central Catholic, they dropped their record down to 11-9 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will host Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lima Central Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Ada at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
