Baseball Game Preview: Arab Knights vs. New Hope Indians

The Arab Knights will venture away from home to face off against the New Hope Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Arab was able to grind out a solid victory over West Point, taking the game 7-2. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.

Luke Hudson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Dawkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, New Hope hadn't done well against North Jackson recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. New Hope narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past North Jackson 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

New Hope saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Maples, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Maples has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Layton Pohl, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Arab's record now sits at 5-8. As for New Hope, their record now sits at 5-3.
