St. John's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mathews Mustangs 6-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-13 back in April.

Isabelle Holler made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Holler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mary West, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Caitlyn Carney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. John now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Mathews, they moved to 14-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. St. John will take on David Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
