Recap: Victoria East Titans vs. Victoria West Warriors
The Victoria East Titans won the last time they faced the Victoria West Warriors, and things went their way on Friday too. Victoria East rang in the new year with a 60-47 win over Victoria West. Given Victoria East's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Victoria West is ranked 805th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Victoria East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Buckner, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Buckner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kk Cleveland, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Victoria East has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Victoria West, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Miller the next time they take the court. Victoria East will host Miller at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Victoria West will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
