It was a good run, but Bowie unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Westlake Chaparrals 63-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-38 back in December of 2024.

Bowie's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-9. As for Westlake, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-7.

Bowie and Westlake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Bowie (ranked 96th) will meet Akins (ranked 1076th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowie will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Westlake will challenge Lake Travis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 99 places (41 vs. 140).
