Preview: Lincoln Golden Lions vs. Olentangy Liberty Patriots
The Lincoln Golden Lions will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Olentangy Liberty Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Olentangy Liberty is ranked 24th).
Last Friday, Lincoln was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to Grove City. Lincoln has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Olentangy Liberty's strategy against Hilliard Davidson on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Olentangy Liberty blew Hilliard Davidson out of the water with a 51-15 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-2.
It was another big night for Claire Mikola, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six steals. She hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Gigi Bower was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Olentangy Liberty, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
