Basketball Recap: Kirbyville Takes a Loss

Kirbyville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt an 88-13 defeat at the hands of the Kountze Lions. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Zac Sells, who went 7 of 9 en route to 19 points along with seven steals and five assists for Kountze. Sells' evening made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Kirbyville's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Kountze, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Kirbyville will venture away from home to square off against Hardin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kirbyville is facing Hardin at the right time seeing as Hardin is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kountze, they will take on East Chambers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Chambers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 contests -- so hopefully Kountze likes a good challenge.
