Preview: Washington Leadership Academy vs. Idea Timberwolves
Washington Leadership Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Idea Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Washington Leadership Academy is ranked seventh, while Idea is ranked 15th).
Washington Leadership Academy proved they can win big back in December of 2023 (they won by 38) but last Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Washington Latin Public Charter School out 36-33.
Meanwhile, Idea beat Washington Latin Public Charter School 30-20 on Thursday.
It was another big night for Asaisha Greene, who scored 21 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Idea's points.
Washington Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Idea, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Everything came up roses for Washington Leadership Academy against Idea when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 54-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washington Leadership Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
