Baseball Recap: United Comes Up Short

United came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Homer-Center Wildcats, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

United saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Darr, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

United's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Homer-Center, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as United Lions duke it out with River Valley Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. United is facing River Valley at the right time seeing as River Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Homer-Center, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Penns Valley Area at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
