Football Game Preview: Hinsdale South Hornets vs. Leyden Eagles + Official Tickets

The Hinsdale South Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Leyden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hinsdale South will be strutting in after a victory while Leyden will be coming in after a loss.

Hinsdale South was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Berwyn/Cicero Morton on Friday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Mustangs. The Hornets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 31 points the game before, Leyden was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-10 loss at the hands of Downers Grove South. The Eagles have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Hinsdale South's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Leyden, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Hinsdale South against Leyden in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 38-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
