Football Recap: Coram Deo Academy Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Coram Deo Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Oakridge Owls and fell 56-20. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Dearman, who threw for 175 yards and four TDs on only 12 passes. What's more, Dearman racked up 135.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Hudson Hayes helped Dearman out on the ground, rushing for 105 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries.

Coram Deo Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-14 defeat against McKinney Christian Academy on the 5th. As for Oakridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 50-6 victory against Atlas HomeSchool on the 4th.
