Basketball Recap: Jordan Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eldorado over Anna-Jonesboro

Eldorado lost against Anna-Jonesboro back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eldorado Eagles took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Jones a new career-high. Maddex Rash was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Eldorado has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Anna-Jonesboro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Eldorado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-43 loss against DuQuoin on the 24th. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-47 victory against Johnston City on the 25th.
