It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mountain Brook had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Buckhorn Bucks as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Mountain Brook is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Buckhorn, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bucks beat Mountain Brook by a score of 4-1 later that day.
