Baseball Recap: Omaha Westside Wins Going Away Against Columbus

Omaha Westside lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Columbus, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Discoverers a 10-0 shutout on Monday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Ben Weiss looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Markus Chandler was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Schulz, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Omaha Westside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive contests.

Omaha Westside's record now sits at 3-5. As for Columbus, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
