Basketball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Comes Up Short

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Williamsburg Raiders 72-14. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Raiders are ranked 31st).

Vinton-Shellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Williamsburg, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5.

Vinton-Shellsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williamsburg, they will square off against Roland-Story on Wednesday.
