Softball Game Preview: Walla Walla Blue Devils vs. Hanford Falcons

The Walla Walla Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Hanford Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Walla Walla is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Walla Walla came up short against Kamiakin and fell 11-6.

Emily Meliah ?26 made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Hanford unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-0 to Richland. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Hanford's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for Walla Walla, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Walla Walla might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Hanford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
