With a playoff win on the line, Waterloo rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Anna-Jonesboro/Cobden Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Waterloo, who have now won nine games by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Anna-Jonesboro/Cobden with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Megan Young (4), Morgan Boyer (2), Abby Brown, and Taylor Thorsten.

Waterloo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for Anna-Jonesboro/Cobden, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14-2.
