Preview: Beekmantown Eagles vs. Saranac Lake Red Storm
Beekmantown has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Saranac Lake Red Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beekmantown will be strutting in after a victory while the Red Storm will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Saranac scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, Beekmantown still came out on top. Beekmantown managed a 70-64 win over the Spartans.
Meanwhile, Saranac Lake was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 56-52 to the Vikings. While losing is never fun, Saranac Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Vikings are ranked 49th).
Beekmantown has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Saranac Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Beekmantown was able to grind out a solid win over the Red Storm in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 58-50. Does Beekmantown have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
