Basketball Recap: Alhambra Comes Up Short

Alhambra suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by the North Mustangs and fell 69-8. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

North was led to victory by Esefani Brunson and Xxylina Flores. Brunson went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Flores went 8 for 16 on her way to 22 points and four steals. Flores' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Dickerson, who posted six points and ten boards.

Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for North, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing McClintock the next time they take the court. North will head out to face McClintock at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Alhambra will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
