Basketball Recap: Bagdad Comes Up Short

Bagdad lost against Salome back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bagdad Sultans were beaten by the Salome Frogs 49-16. The Sultans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Brianna Thomas was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds for Salome. Thomas is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 11 games she's played. Myranda Cruz was another key player, going 5 for 8 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Bagdad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Salome, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Bagdad didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-32 loss against Mayer on the 4th. As for Salome, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-8 win against Antelope on the 4th.
