See Kaylee Tows make an amazing grab that helped lead No. 22 Madisonville-North Hopkins (Ky.) to the state title.
Let's go ahead and make it official, the 2017 MaxPreps mythical National Champion is California's Los Alamitos High School.
Though one week remains in the Softball Rankings, no team is going to jump the Griffins.
Los Alamitos (28-3) started the season ranked No. 1 four months ago and returned to the top a week ago after knocking previously unbeaten and No. 1 Norco from the top spot. The Cougars, 33-1, finish the season at No. 3 after the 3-1 loss to Los Alamitos in the California Interscholastic Federation's Southern Section D1 title game.
Unbeaten Bishop O'Connell is ranked No. 2 with one poll remaining.
Though it is unlikely for a change in the Top 10, a few states close out their seasons this weekend with state tournaments and movement is expected in the bottom 10 to 15 in the rankings.
The biggest mover of the week was Fort Myers, which jumped from unranked to No. 16.
In addition to Fort Myers, new to the Top 25 this week are Madisonville-North Hopkins, Sheldon, King's Academy and Farmington.
