With a playoff win on the line, Langston Hughes rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 72-40 win over the Lassiter Trojans. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophie Hortman, who posted 16 points. That was a full 40% of Lassiter's points, marking the third time in a row Hortman has scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Malia Loadwick, who put up seven points and nine boards.

Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 27-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Lassiter, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-16.

Langston Hughes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-34 win against Veterans on the 25th. Lassiter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
