Football Recap: Smackover Takes a Loss

After flying high against Harmony Grove last Friday, Smackover came back down to earth. The Buckaroos were outmatched by the Bismarck Lions and fell 58-21. The matchup marked the Buckaroos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Caedmon Keithley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bismarck, rushing for 220 yards and three scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 56 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Keithley has posted since back in November of 2024. Clayton Martinez was another key back, gaining 98 total yards and two touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Smackover fell to 4-1. As for Bismarck, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Smackover is set to square off against their familiar foe Centerpoint at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Bismarck will challenge rival Fouke at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
