Baseball Recap: Trimble County Raiders vs. Owen County Rebels

Trimble County had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-15 to make it four. They fell 5-0 to the Owen County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 on Tuesday.

As for Owen County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Owen County's part, the result came thanks to Wade Cook's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. Cook has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nathan Kemper was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Looking ahead, Trimble County will be playing at home against Newport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 33-game losing streak. As for Owen County, they will venture away from home to take on Bellevue at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
