Volleyball Recap: Burrillville Broncos vs. North Smithfield Northmen
After flying high against Lincoln last Thursday, Burrillville came back down to earth. The Burrillville Broncos fell just short of the North Smithfield Northmen by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Broncos have struggled against the Northmen recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Burrillville took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-7.
Abby Roden was a one-man wrecking crew for North Smithfield as she had 14 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Roden a new career-high.
Burrillville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for North Smithfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Burrillville will be playing at home against Pilgrim at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Smithfield, they will head out to challenge Barrington at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Barrington is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, so North Smithfield will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
