Basketball Game Preview: Kellam Knights vs. Cox Falcons

Kellam and Cox are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Kellam Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Cox Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Kellam's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Last Friday, Kellam humbled Ocean Lakes with an 88-41 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cox suffered their biggest loss since December 17, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Green Run, falling 62-42. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Stallions are ranked 11th).

Cox's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Kellam, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Kellam took their win against Cox in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 78-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kellam since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
