Basketball Recap: Pacheco Comes Up Short

Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Valley Hawks. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Emmanuel Carranza was the offensive standout of the game as he went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of David Gutierrez, who posted 11 points.

Pacheco now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Central Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Pacheco and Central Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Pacheco (ranked 1046th) will meet Johansen (ranked 362nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Central Valley (ranked 831st) will meet Beyer (ranked 249th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
