Softball Recap: Monrovia Comes Up Short

Monrovia made up a huge gap compared to their last game against South Putnam, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Camryn Wolfe was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Holtsclaw, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Monrovia now has a losing record of 4-5. As for South Putnam, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Monrovia will head out to challenge Danville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Putnam, they will be playing at home against Clay City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eels have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
