Volleyball Recap: Hemingford Bobcats vs. Kimball Longhorns
Hemingford was the 2-0 winner over Kimball when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Longhorns 25-17 in the first set.
Hemingford started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-15, 25-19.
Alexis Stricker paced Hemingford's offense, picking up six kills. Stricker got some help from Bailey Sellman and her seven assists. Kylie Kumpf controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leading Kimball to victory were Hannah Kilgore and Addisyn Olson. Kilgore had 11 digs, while Olson had seven digs, six kills, and two aces.
Hemingford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Hemingford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Oelrichs on the 30th. As for Kimball, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Gordon-Rushville on the 28th.
