Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only White Pine walked away with it. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Lincoln County Lynx on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Paige Hayward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cecilia Barbosa was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kendra Derbidge was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: White Pine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

White Pine's record now sits at 14-11. As for Lincoln County, they moved to 15-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

White Pine wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-3 loss against Needles on the 9th. As for Lincoln County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-4 win against Awaken Christian on the 9th.
