Volleyball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Beloit's Winning Streak

Beloit and Hoisington squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Beloit had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Beloit sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 15-25, 25-19.

Brecken Boudreaux paced Beloit's offense, picking up 11 kills. Boudreaux got some help from Colbi Stroede and her 16 assists. Mckenna Channell controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Miya Nachtigal, who had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 13 contests.

Beloit's loss dropped their record down to 29-9. As for Hoisington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 25 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-4 record this season.

Beloit and Hoisington are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Trojans will square off against Ellsworth at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hoisington, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Goodland at 2:30 p.m.
