Kris Jenkins authored what will go down as one of the signature moments in national championship game history Monday night by knocking down a game-winning 3-pointer as time expired for Villanova.
The shot gave the Wildcats a 77-74 win over North Carolina and fans a moment they will never forget.
Jenkins finished with 14 points - just a tad over his season average of 13.6.
As a senior at
Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) back in 2012-13, Jenkins averaged 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while leading the Purple Eagles to a rare unbeaten regular season in the rugged Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. He earned Washington Post All-Met Player of the Year honors for his efforts.
