Baseball Game Preview: Point Pleasant Boro Panthers vs. Ocean City Raiders

The Point Pleasant Boro Panthers will take on the Ocean City Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Point Pleasant Boro turned things around against Central Regional on Thursday. They skirted past the Golden Eagles 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 16th.

Aidan Dombrowsky was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Lokerson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Point Pleasant Boro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Ocean City had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They never let the Warrior get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Raiders this season.

Ocean City pushed their record up to 12-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Point Pleasant Boro, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
